From infrastructure to operating platform

The goal is not “move to cloud.” The goal is infrastructure that is easier to change, observe and trust.

Cloud programmes create lasting value when architecture, security, deployment, cost, resilience and operations are designed together. A workload can be technically “in the cloud” and still remain difficult to scale, expensive to operate or fragile to change.

Crown Technologies approaches cloud infrastructure as a production system. We start with workloads, business criticality, data flows, recovery expectations and team capability—then select the right mix of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, containers, automation and managed operations.

01 / FIT

Right platform for each workload

Choose cloud services based on application architecture, data sensitivity, availability needs, integration and operational ownership—not fashion.

02 / SCALE

Elastic capacity without operational chaos

Design compute, storage, network and platform layers so capacity can grow without multiplying manual configuration.

03 / CONTROL

Security and governance by design

Identity, access, segmentation, secrets, configuration and environment boundaries are considered as part of architecture.

04 / VISIBILITY

Know what production is doing

Logs, metrics, traces, alerts and dashboards give teams the context to identify issues before they become prolonged outages.

Our operating principle: automate repeatable work, make system state visible, design for failure and keep production ownership clear.
Cloud engineering portfolio

Deep capability across architecture, migration, automation, containers, security and operations.

The original Crown cloud offering already spans IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, migration tooling, infrastructure automation, container orchestration, monitoring, CI/CD and security. This architecture brings those capabilities together as one delivery system.

01
FOUNDATION

Cloud strategy & target architecture

Define the future environment before migration begins. We assess workloads, dependencies, availability expectations, data flows, security requirements and operating constraints to shape a target architecture that the organisation can realistically support.

02
CLOUD CONSUMPTION

IaaS, PaaS & SaaS enablement

Use the right cloud service model for each responsibility. IaaS provides control over virtual infrastructure; PaaS can reduce platform-management overhead for applications and data services; SaaS can remove entire layers of maintenance where a suitable managed product exists.

03
MIGRATION

Cloud migration & workload transition

Plan and execute migrations in controlled waves. Discovery, dependency mapping, data movement, validation, cutover and rollback planning help reduce operational surprise. Existing tooling such as AWS Migration Hub, Azure Migrate, CloudEndure and Zerto can support the migration programme where appropriate.

INFRASTRUCTURE AS CODE

Repeatable infrastructure automation

Replace one-off manual configuration with versioned, reviewable infrastructure definitions. Infrastructure as code helps teams reproduce environments, understand intended state and reduce drift as cloud estates become more complex.

05
CONTAINERS

Docker, Kubernetes & platform engineering

Container platforms can create consistent runtime boundaries and improve deployment portability when the operational model is ready for them. We design container build, orchestration, configuration, service exposure and lifecycle patterns around actual application needs.

06
DELIVERY AUTOMATION

CI/CD & release engineering

Build deployment pipelines that turn code and configuration change into controlled releases. Automated build, test, security checks, environment promotion and rollback patterns improve delivery consistency while reducing repetitive operational work.

07
OBSERVABILITY

Monitoring, logging & operational intelligence

Production systems need more than uptime checks. We design monitoring around service health, application behaviour, infrastructure capacity, errors and user-impact signals so operational teams can move from “something is wrong” to a useful diagnosis faster.

DEVSECOPS

Cloud security & secure delivery

Security should travel with the delivery lifecycle. We incorporate identity, least-privilege access, environment separation, secrets handling, code and dependency scanning, container controls and runtime visibility according to the risk profile of the platform.

09
RESILIENCE

Backup, recovery & continuity architecture

Design recovery expectations before an incident. Workload criticality, backup frequency, restore validation, redundancy, failover and recovery procedures should align to the business impact of downtime and data loss.

MANAGED OPERATIONS

Cloud optimisation, support & lifecycle management

After launch, environments keep changing. Ongoing cloud operations can include monitoring, incident support, patching coordination, capacity review, security improvements, cost visibility and platform evolution so production does not slowly drift away from its intended architecture.

A healthy cloud platform makes invisible infrastructure visible.

Modern cloud estates generate enormous amounts of operational information. The challenge is turning that telemetry into meaningful signals: service health, capacity pressure, deployment impact, security events, latency, errors and customer-facing performance.

Where cloud capability creates value

Infrastructure patterns for different stages of business and technology growth.

Cloud work is not limited to new systems. It can reduce risk in ageing environments, create a better deployment platform for development teams, improve resilience and give leaders clearer visibility into cost and operational health.

01 / MIGRATE

Data-centre exit or workload migration

Move suitable workloads in stages with dependency discovery, cutover planning and clear recovery options.

02 / MODERNISE

Legacy application hosting

Improve deployment, reliability and operations around existing systems before deeper application modernisation.

03 / SCALE

High-growth digital products

Create elastic compute, container or managed-service foundations that can respond to changing demand.

04 / PLATFORM

Developer delivery platform

Standardise environments, pipelines, deployment patterns and observability so product teams spend less time rebuilding infrastructure basics.

05 / RESILIENCE

Business continuity improvement

Review backup, redundancy, failover and restore procedures around the real impact of downtime and data loss.

06 / SECURITY

Cloud security uplift

Strengthen identity, access, segmentation, secrets, scanning and security visibility across environments.

07 / OBSERVE

Operational visibility programme

Bring application and infrastructure telemetry together so support teams can identify root causes sooner.

08 / AUTOMATE

Infrastructure automation

Move from manual setup to versioned infrastructure and repeatable deployment workflows.

09 / OPERATE

Managed cloud environment

Establish ongoing monitoring, lifecycle, incident and optimisation practices around production services.

Cloud delivery model

A controlled path from current state to production-ready cloud operations.

Cloud transformation touches applications, networks, data, security and business continuity. The delivery model keeps those dependencies visible and makes operational readiness part of the project rather than a handover afterthought.

C

Production cloud needs an operating discipline, not just architecture diagrams.

Reliable infrastructure comes from the combination of automation, visibility, security, recovery planning and clear ownership. We design those concerns into the platform lifecycle rather than treating them as independent projects.

01

Security-aware architecture

Identity, access, network boundaries, secrets and security tooling considered alongside application and infrastructure requirements.

02

Infrastructure consistency

Versioned templates and automated pipelines reduce configuration drift and make changes easier to review.

03

Observability by default

Applications and infrastructure should expose enough telemetry to understand health, capacity and failure modes.

04

Recovery that is tested

Backup existence is not the same as recoverability; restore and failover procedures need validation against business expectations.

05

Governance without paralysis

Use guardrails, access models and automated checks to improve control without turning every change into a manual bottleneck.

Modernise infrastructure without disrupting the business it supports

Move from fragile infrastructure to an engineered cloud operating platform.

Infrastructure modernisation can begin with one critical workload, one deployment process or one visibility problem. We can help separate what should be migrated, re-platformed, containerised, automated, retained or retired—then sequence change around business risk rather than technology enthusiasm.

Cloud infrastructure questions

What organisations usually want to know before changing infrastructure.

What cloud and infrastructure services can Crown Technologies support?

Our scope includes cloud architecture, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS planning, AWS and Azure environments, migration, Terraform and CloudFormation infrastructure automation, Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, cloud security, resilience and ongoing managed operations.

Do we need to move every system to the cloud?

No. Some workloads may be better retained, modernised in place, moved to managed services or migrated later. The right decision depends on technical constraints, cost, business criticality, data, latency, integration and operational capability.

Can you migrate an existing production environment with minimal disruption?

Migration risk can be reduced through discovery, dependency mapping, staged migration waves, rehearsal, validation, rollback planning and careful cutover design. The exact approach depends on the workload and tolerance for downtime.

When should we use Kubernetes?

Kubernetes can be valuable when teams need consistent orchestration across multiple containerised services, scaling, deployment control and platform standardisation. It also adds operational complexity, so it should be selected because the workload and team model benefit from it—not simply because it is popular.

What is infrastructure as code and why does it matter?

Infrastructure as code represents infrastructure configuration in version-controlled definitions. This makes intended state easier to reproduce, review and automate, helping reduce manual configuration and environment drift.

Can you improve monitoring in an existing cloud environment?

Yes. We can review current telemetry and establish better metrics, logs, traces, alerting, dashboards and incident context using platforms such as Datadog, New Relic, Splunk or other tools already used by the organisation.

How do you approach cloud security and compliance requirements?

We design controls around identity, access, environment isolation, network boundaries, secrets, scanning, logging and operational processes. Where organisations have requirements related to frameworks or regulations such as ISO/IEC 27001, GDPR, HIPAA or CCPA, the technical environment should be aligned to the specific controls and evidence required. Crown Technologies does not imply certification simply from the use of cloud tooling.

Do you provide support after migration or launch?

Yes. Ongoing support can cover monitoring, incident investigation, infrastructure changes, platform maintenance, capacity, resilience improvements, security uplift, cost visibility and continuous architecture improvement.
